ALT-BNPD is an excellent preservative for both leave-on and rinse-off products such as creams, lotions, shampoos, rinses, wipes and towelettes. The active ingredient of ALT-BNPD is 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1,3-Diol or Bronopol. It is listed in the USA and the EU respectively as an approved cosmetic preservative at levels up to 0.1%.
