Carbopol® 981 polymer is a white powder, crosslinked polyacrylic acid polymer that is polymerized in a toxicologically-preferred cosolvent system. It was designed to suspend, stabilize, and thicken to enhance the appearance of low viscosity personal care products. It provides excellent emulsion and suspension stability at low viscosities. It is typically used in a variety of personal care applications including clear gels, hydro-alcoholic gels, and lotions.
