CELLACTIVE®

CELLACTIVE® is the first carbon-neutral cosmetic active. Its product life cycle was monitored and produced CO2 was calculated with the help of the cradle-to-gate approach. To neutralise unavoidable CO2-emissions, RAHN supports two forest conservation projects in Switzerland and Papua New Guinea, which are part of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. CELLACTIVE® contains two eco-friendly ingredients, the microalga C. vulgaris and the white lupin, which consume CO2 and whose cultivation require low energy and nutrition. The algae are cultivated in an environmentally friendly closed photobioreactor. White lupin can even fix nitrogen from the atmosphere. Both ingredients are well-known superfoods and sources of valuable nutritional building blocks (amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates).
