C’ESTER 1215 UVA significantly boosts the UVA and UVB absorbance of avobenzone without diminishing the critical wavelength (383nm) compared to conventional C12-15 alkyl benzoate. This means that C’ESTER 1215 UVA not only boosts SPF but also provides greater broad spectrum protection in combination with avobenzone. C’ESTER 1215 UVA is a novel patent pending ester derived from C12-15 alcohols and benzoic acid. It is fast spreading, reduces tack & drag and delivers a dry lubricious feel. It is an excellent solvent for lipophilic raw materials especially sunscreens. In hair care products it provides improved wet and dry combing. C’ESTER 1215 UVA is useful in a wide range of cosmetic and personal care products including OTC drug products. It is insoluble in water with a required HLB of about 11-13.
