Salicat K-100 is a preservative that serves as a bactericide and fungicide in personal care and cosmetic applications. This clear colorless or slightly yellow liquid is made from a combination of methylchloroisothiazolinone, benzyl alcohol and methylisothiazolinone. It is soluble in water and is compatible with most of the raw materials that are used commonly in cosmetics. This product can be used as an ingredient in rinse off cosmetics and by the EU law has a dosage of only 0.12%.
