Salicat K-145 is a broad spectrum biocide based on the aqueous combination of CMIT/ MIT and bronopol. It is a colorless to slightly yellow liquid and has a characteristic odor and can be soluble in water as well as polar solvents like glycerol and propylene glycol. The pH is between 3 and 5. This is recommended leave on and rinse off products used in the personal care industry. However, it is not recommended for oral products such as lipsticks or toothpastes.
